Installation of a 5 MW combined heat and power (CHP) facility providing heating, cooling, and power to the City of Markham. The project included process piping, mechanical installation, fabrication, HVAC, and civil construction, delivered in compliance with CSA, ASME, and TSSA standards.

Project Overview

DMS completed the installation of a 5 MW combined heat and power (CHP) facility that provides heating, cooling, and power to the City of Markham. Equipment installed included two 2.5 MW Caterpillar natural gas generators, exhaust heat boilers, cooling towers, absorption chillers, heat exchangers, pumps, and expansion tanks. The piping systems included hot water, chilled water, natural gas, generator exhaust, compressed air, urea, potable water, and drainage.

Our scope included all piping system installation, millwrighting and equipment rigging, HVAC installation, steel fabrication and erection, and other general construction requirements. Regulated piping systems were installed to CSA B51, ASME B31.1, and B31.3 in accordance with TSSA regulations, ensuring a safe, reliable, and code-compliant facility delivering essential utilities to the community.
