DMS completed the construction of a 10 MW cogeneration plant to provide low-cost power and heat to a 430,000 square foot greenhouse facility in Southwestern Ontario. The plant included four 2.5 MW containerized generator sets, remote radiators, a containerized electrical house, and an underground heat recovery system.
Our scope included all above and below grade process piping, millwrighting and rigging, and metal fabrication. Process systems included natural gas, jacket water, aftercooler water, hot water supply and return, and urea. The underground heat recovery system for hot water supply and return was constructed using welded pre-insulated piping (Urecon system), ensuring an efficient, reliable, and durable installation to support the greenhouse’s energy needs.
