DMS completed the installation of the subsurface district energy piping system connecting the Bur Oak Energy Center to the Markham Stouffville Hospital, a new public library and pool, and a new fire station. The piping systems installed included high-pressure steam, condensate, chilled water supply and return, and hot water supply and return. The project included critical connections to the existing hospital systems, and coordination was paramount throughout, as multiple projects were underway at the same site simultaneously.
Our scope included all piping installation, civil excavation and restoration, and concrete chamber installations. The piping systems were installed to CSA B51, ASME B31.1, and B31.3 in accordance with TSSA regulations. Through careful coordination and rigorous quality control, DMS delivered a safe, reliable, and code-compliant district energy piping system linking key community facilities.
