DMS played a key role in the construction of a new regional biosolids processing facility in Central Ontario. Built on a greenfield site using a collaborative design-build approach, the project required close coordination between the owner, engineers, trades, and project partners to successfully deliver a complex industrial processing facility.
Designed to receive municipal biosolids from multiple Ontario municipalities, the facility uses proprietary treatment technology to produce high-grade fertilizer while supporting sustainable waste management practices.
DMS delivered a complete mechanical scope of work, including process piping, millwrighting and rigging, plumbing, HVAC and odour control systems, steel fabrication and installation, civil works, and site services. The team installed and integrated major process equipment including reactor tanks, dispersers, centrifuges, steam boilers, pumps, and a variety of supporting mechanical systems.
The completed facility includes a main processing building, fan hall, delivery hall, biofilter, truck loading station, multiple pumping stations, and storage lagoons, creating a modern processing plant capable of efficiently handling biosolids from municipalities across the region.
