DMS completed the mechanical installation and associated construction work for a new integrated biosolids processing system at an existing wastewater treatment plant in Michigan. The facility uses proprietary technology to process municipal biosolids into high-grade fertilizer. Delivered using a design-build approach, the project required close collaboration with project stakeholders to integrate the new processing system into the existing facility.
Major equipment installations included reactor tanks, dispersers, centrifuges, steam boilers, pumps, and associated processing equipment. Significant civil and concrete work was also required to modify an existing underground storage tank to accommodate the new system. Additional work included mezzanine supply and installation, structural modifications, carpentry, and miscellaneous construction activities.
DMS’s scope included all process piping, millwrighting and rigging, plumbing, HVAC and odour control systems, steel fabrication and installation, and site services. By coordinating multiple trades and construction disciplines, DMS supported the delivery of a complete biosolids processing facility designed to convert municipal waste into a valuable agricultural product.
