DMS provided complete mechanical construction services for a new regional biosolids processing facility built at an existing wastewater treatment plant in Northern California. The facility receives biosolids from multiple municipalities and uses proprietary technology to convert municipal biosolids into high-grade fertilizer.
Constructed through a collaborative design-build approach, the project required close coordination between all stakeholders while meeting an aggressive construction schedule. To keep the project on track, DMS maintained crews on site seven days a week throughout construction.
The facility included a main processing area, fan hall, delivery hall, biofilter, truck loading station, multiple pumping stations, and storage lagoons. DMS installed major process equipment including reactor tanks, dispersers, centrifuges, steam boilers, pumps, and associated process systems.
The scope of work included process piping, millwrighting and rigging, plumbing, HVAC and odour control, steel fabrication and installation, and site services, delivering a complete mechanical package for this large-scale biosolids processing facility.
